To all of my readers: It’s hard to imagine that I have been the Editorial Editor for two and a half years now. That’s five semesters!

It sure has gone fast. I have worked with some great people during my time here.

But all good things must end. That’s right — Robb’s Rants will be no more. I decided around a month ago that I am going to hang it up after this semester and step down as the Editorial Editor.

I’m torn about leaving — I love my fellow Posties and I love to piss off liberals with my rants. But it just hasn’t been fun for me anymore. My heart hasn’t been in it for the last semester or two.

Sure, there have been great moments, such as the stacks of hate mail I received after my American Indian / mascot column.

I know most of you will be glad to see me go, that is because most of you — being college students — are pretty liberal, and thus have a certain dislike for me. I’d venture to say that I could very well be one of the most disliked college students on campus and I enjoy that. It will be hard to let that go.

I hope during my time here I have made some of you think outside of your box. Upon first picking up the mighty pen, my initial goal was to help show liberals how to think using a logical thought processes. You know, unlike what they are accustomed to doing.

But after awhile, I realized that this was too big of a job for one person, so I sort of gave up on that goal. What an idealist I was!

After giving up on trying to have a purpose for my column, I realized it was much more fun to just incite anger. So, at the very least, I hope during my time here I’ve managed to anger as many democrats/liberals/lefties as possible. I know that I have even managed to anger my friends and colleagues here at the Post on occasion (i.e. the notorious “egg in your face” column.)

I jest. But on a more serious note, I would like to say, with all sincerity, to everyone who has supported me and read my column: THANK YOU! Even to those that hate my column and hate me — I truly appreciate that you took the time to read what I wrote.

Take care of yourselves and be human to each other!

Sincerely,
Robb Manning
