Gay people may often be puzzled by the question, “When did you realize you were gay?” so we thought it may be interesting to see what straight people could come up with.

“It’s not something you wake up and say: ‘Holy shit, I’m straight.’”

Dan Gerszewski, 19, said sexual orientation is not a one-time realization, but a continual process. He said on a continuum with six being gay and one being straight, he is probably a two.

“I always knew I was straight.”

Geri Aurora, 20, had her first boyfriend in eighth grade. She said he was worth it because he was her best friend and they knew everything about each other. She said she valued honesty most in the opposite sex, even though she said it is not common enough.

“When I got my first boner in sixth grade.”

Trevor Lang, 19, also said he discovered the joys of carnal knowledge when he found a sex book in the blanket closet when he was a kid. “I kept going back,” he said.

“He was non-threatening and blond.”

Amanda Leisgang, 21, recalls her heterosexual infatuations with Jonathan Taylor Thomas when she was around 10. Her taste has changed, however, being that her fiancé is tall with dark hair and eyes.
