Your best bet for parking is the bus, walking or a bike. But if you do feel the need to bring a car to school for the year or for a couple nights, here are just a couple things you should know from the start. You will get a ticket — it’s just a matter of time.

###Night parking 2 to 6 a.m.

Milwaukee: call three times max. for up to three nights, 286-8300.

Shorewood: call 10 times max. for one night each, 847-2610.

You don’t have to call for Sunday morning or major holidays.

Always ask about parking on what side of the street and watch for street-sweeping signs and information on snow removal.

###Milwaukee Night Parking Permit

A permit is $44 per year or $12 per quarter. The quarters are January-March, April-June, July-September and October-December. Permits can be bought at 2920 N. 4th St. If you are going to have to park in the street don’t put off buying the permit. It will cost you.

###Consequences

Illegally parked vehicles with two or more unpaid parking citations more than 30 days old may be subject to towing. Good luck!
